The work is part of a series of 15 silkscreen prints in which I explore the idea of books as a personal and collective self-portrait. Each silkscreen, printed on 300 grams fine cotton paper, is composed of three inks in primary colors.
In them, my open hands simulate the opening of a book. The pieces are framed in a hood that retains the shadow of my hands, thanks to the folding of the sheet, which reveals my tactile presence. These works are constructed with letters and textual fragments taken from my own books, which invites an intimate reflection on how thoughts, words and letters, accumulated over time, are a reflection of identity. This weaving of coincidences, affections, temporalities and experiences forms the basis of my silkscreen prints, which explore the displacement of words and thoughts, inviting us to reflect on the act of our construction, both personal and collective.
