Entre sindicalismo y progreso

Entre sindicalismo y progreso

Entre el sindicalismo y el progreso is a series of poems written by Mexican telegraphists in 1947, the same year that World War II ended and the first international organization, the International Telegraph Union (today the International Telecommunication Union, ITU), was created in Geneva, Switzerland.

Thanks to the fact that telegraphists could feel the pulsations of words, they developed a great capacity for sensitivity to the rhythm of language, wrote poetry about everyday situations, so I decided to republish in different languages their poems that speak of the decadence of national progress and address them to the International Telecommunication Union. This link seems to be a form of activation of memory and a return of the telegraphers' voices to the place where they should have been heard.
